Recruitment
We formally select our new members during a summer recruitment process with invitations issued based on character, leadership and commitment to academics. The recruitment period typically begins in early May as students graduate from high school and is most often complete by July 1. Our preparation for this process begins early each spring semester and we encourage you to contact us with your interest.
In general the recruitment process includes the recruitment chairmen and members of the Fraternity taking time to meet prospective new members and their parents through in-home meetings, lunch and dinner engagements, sporting activities, etc. In addition, each weekend from late May through early July we host a series of events, often at the home of current members or alumni. It is at these events that prospective new members from around the state and country are invited to meet the Brothers of ΣAE, and where the men of our Chapter have the opportunity to engage in conversation and activities to learn more about prospective new members. It is through this process that we select on average 25-30 new men each year.
In addition, we offer a chance to tour our House and or attend several general events and alumni functions each spring.
If you are a student interested in Fraternity life, we encourage you to complete our Student Recruitment Application, so we can learn more about you and ensure we have your name on our contact lists. Alumni, family and friends that would like to submit a recommendation for a possible candidate are encouraged to complete our Recruitment Recommendation Form. Upon submission these forms are directed to our Recruitment Chairmen. If you prefer to speak with any of our Recruitment Chairman directly, we encourage you to call or email them as listed below.

Please Be Aware: If you are interested in the Fraternity System at UNL, most of the fraternities on campus including ΣAE do plan for and require freshmen live in the house. If you have reserved and placed a deposit on a UNL Dormitory room, you must cancel that reservation by May 1 in order to receive partial return of your deposit from the University.
