Community Involvement

The Nebraska Lambda Pi Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon has a long and proud tradition of involvement in the community.
Central to our principles is service to others. This is not viewed as an obligation—but as a way to strengthen our community and ourselves as responsible leaders. While many brothers are involved in community programs on their own, the chapter also has annual signature programs, which include:

Do It Sober
Do It Sober is an annual student focused alcohol awareness program created by our Chapter in 1984. The evening includes a nationally recognized speaker, attracting well over 1000 students in an effort to educate our peers about the responsible use of alcohol.

Hockey Fights Cancer
A benefit for the American Cancer Society, this event is coordinated in partnership with a sorority. T-shirt and ticket sales to the events are donated to help fund research and assist patients in their fight against cancer. Last year we raised approximately $4,000.

Paddy Murphy Celebration
As a part of this week-long celebration, the Chapter raised $11,000 and donated the proceeds to the Children’s Miracle Network.
